FARMERS CARE
FARMERS TRAINING
We offer tailored, need-based training programs to support Nuwakot, Chitwan, Dhading, and Makwanpur farmers in their journey toward organic agricultural excellence and certification. Our modular training sessions are structured to address the unique challenges faced by farmers in these regions, focusing on practical, hands-on learning that empowers them to adopt and enhance organic production techniques.
Key training areas include Organic Cereal and Vegetable Production, Vermicomposting, Organic Manure and Bio-pesticide Preparation, Integrated Pest Management (IPM), Organic Tea Farming, and Quality Honey Production. We also emphasize the formation and strengthening of farmers’ groups through capacity-building activities and practical demonstrations, helping participants develop collective resilience and market access strategies.
Through this program, we not only guide farmers in transitioning to organic practices but also equip them with the necessary tools, knowledge, and understanding of certification processes. This opens the path toward premium organic markets and long-term sustainability. By building confidence in organic farming methods and enhancing product quality, we aim to boost their productivity, income, and overall contribution to a healthier agricultural ecosystem.

ORGANIC CERTIFICATION
At Organic Venture Nepal (OVN), we are actively facilitating the organic certification process for smallholder farmers and farms, ensuring they meet the highest organic standards while transitioning toward eco-friendly, sustainable agricultural practices. This process is essential in helping farmers gain access to premium markets, achieve fair pricing, and offer consumers verified, high-quality organic products.
Certification Achievements in Ilam
We are proud to announce that one phase of the organic certification process has been completed in Ilam, marking a significant milestone for our farmers in the region. This achievement reflects their hard work, commitment to organic practices, and adherence to the strict standards required for certification.
Ongoing Certification Efforts in Makwanpur, Nuwakot, and Chitwan
Currently, farmers in Makwanpur, Nuwakot, and Chitwan are actively undergoing the organic certification process. This involves rigorous monitoring, detailed documentation, and the implementation of organic farming techniques such as composting, vermiculture, organic pest management, and soil fertility improvement. Our team provides hands-on training and continuous guidance to help farmers successfully transition toward certified organic production.
Conversion Phase for Transitioning Farms
For farms that do not yet fully meet the certification criteria, we initiate a conversion phase. During this phase, farmers gradually adopt organic practices while reducing chemical inputs and improving soil and crop health. This allows them to transition step by step under the guidance of our experts until they achieve full compliance with organic certification standards.
By facilitating organic certification across these regions, OVN aims to create lasting impacts by strengthening farmers’ livelihoods, promoting sustainable agriculture, and ensuring that consumers have access to authentic, certified organic products. We believe that every small step in this journey brings us closer to a healthier, more sustainable future for all

INPUT SUPPORTS
At Organic Venture Nepal (OVN), we are dedicated to empowering smallholder farmers by providing essential materials, infrastructure, and hands-on guidance to enhance their organic farming practices. We believe that sustainable agriculture begins with access to the right tools, resources, and training, and we are proud to offer tailored support that addresses the unique needs of each farmer, farming group, or cooperative.
Start-Up Support for Organic Farming
To help farmers transition to or expand their organic practices, OVN provides start-up capital in the form of critical agricultural inputs and infrastructure. Based on individual and group needs, beneficiaries receive:
-
High-quality seeds to promote organic crop diversity and productivity.
-
Essential tools and equipment for efficient organic farming practices, including compost preparation, organic pest management, and soil health improvement.
-
Infrastructure development such as vermicomposting units, greenhouses, irrigation systems, and storage facilities to strengthen organic production.
Fostering Organic Farming Diversity and Growth
Through these resources, farmers are able to diversify their product offerings, adopt sustainable practices, and increase both the quantity and quality of their organic produce. This not only improves their income but also enhances their resilience against market fluctuations and climate-related challenges.
Supporting Farmers’ Groups and Cooperatives
Whether it’s an individual farmer, a farming group, or a cooperative, we ensure that each beneficiary has the tailored resources and ongoing guidance they need to succeed. By fostering collaboration within farmers’ groups, we enhance their collective capacity to manage organic production, maintain quality control, and access larger markets.
Sustainable Growth and Long-Term Impact
Our mission is to create long-term, sustainable impacts by building farmers’ capacity and providing them with the tools to thrive in organic agriculture. The support we offer not only improves production but also contributes to environmental conservation, healthier food systems, and improved livelihoods for farmers.
